When Alarie discovers him alone, near death in the frozen wilds, Thomas is disoriented but observant, quickly realizing he’s not just lost—he’s somewhere entirely unfamiliar. Unlike most, he doesn’t revere magic or prophecy. He sees the world for what it is: dangerous, corrupt, and full of hard choices. Yet something about Alarie compels him to stay.
